Pasture-Based System:
A pasture-based system where pigs have access to outdoor areas. Allow them to graze on grass, forage, and other natural vegetation. This not only provides a more natural diet but also helps in maintaining soil health.
On AUYEA FARM, they have a better quality of life living in the wide and free environment. Our animals are less stressed, they're more active as they can roam, naturally grow at a slower pace, which contributes to a better taste and flavour, healthy and delicious meat with a true "pork flavor"!
Base on how we raise our pig, our pig is much more healthier and have a better taste compare to a regular commercial pig. Commercial pigs are high production and reproduction numbers of animals, low labour requirements, low land use by concentrated indoor facilities where they have limited living space and a low feed requirements. They are fed by supplement that can speed up the growth. Due to the high density of pigs, periodic medication is necessary to control and prevent the spread of diseases.

What is Commercial Pig?
Commercial pigs are raised in concentrated indoor facilities and fed with compound feed. Their weight can reach over 100 kilograms in 3-4 months while our free-range AUYEA pigs take 7-10 months to reach 70-80 kilograms. The cost of raising free range pig is twice as high as that of commercial pigs (plus additional expenses for maintaining pasture, regular veterinary checks, mix grains etc). Please refer to the following image:
Living situation of the commercial pigs:
From the living situation, you can tell the differences between commercial and Auyea Fram's free range pork, let along the bloodline!
Growth period
The commercial pig normally raise in a concentrated indoor facilities and fed with compound feed (widely used in commercial farming to enhance growth rates and control the spread of diseases). They can reach over 100 kilograms weight in approximately 3-4 months.
On the other hand, our free-range pigs in Auyea Farm consume natural food, engage in daily physical activity, and they take around 7-8 months to reach a weight of 70-80 kilograms.
The visible cost alone is about twice as much as regular pigs, considering the maintenance of pasture grasslands, transportation, and other expenses. Therefore, if the price of free-range pork is not significantly higher than that of regular pork, it is worth considering the farming practices behind it!
